Shoes on the Danube

Along Budapest's shore one will find a most peculiar sight; life sized metal boots lining the boardwalk. Although all tourists snap pictures of it as if it were some kind of contemporary work of art, these shoes hold a much darker purpose. This is the sight were the Jewish people of Budapest were asked to remove this shoes, were shot and their bodies left to be carried away in streams of blood down the river. This marks just another one of the tragedies of WWII.
