Although we overslept completely
unaware of the time change on Easter, we sped across Florence just in
time to see smoke rising from the explosion of the cart outside in
the Piazza del Duomo. 1000's of spectators hoard into the Piazza
every year for the last 500 years to watch the fireworks display. Hundreds of soldiers,
musicians and others in 15
th century clothing escort the 2
white oxen that pull the exploded cart across the city. Without a
doubt one of the most interesting places to be during Catholic
Easter.
