ZAGREB

The Croatian capital of Zagreb is certainly not one of Europe's 'must see' places but is still a pleasant place to make a day trip. Grab some friends, grab some beers and it is sure to be a Sunday Funday to remember. In addition the weekend market is like a reality episode of Antique Road Show with people selling everything and anything, even their black and white WWI family photos in old shoe boxes.

ROADTRIP CROATIA!

5 YOUTH + 1 RENTAL CAR + PLITVICE NATIONAL PARK = THIS! PURE BEAUTY!

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN... WWI

Most have forgotten, as it gets over shadowed by WWII, but WWI did happen and this is where it began!

Setting: Sarajevo- Modern day capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Plot: A Group of Bosnian Serbs attempted to bomb the Arch Duke Franz Ferdinandsand the heir to the Austro-Hungarian Empire's vehicle but missed. Chaos persued, but the tour continued. After leaving the then City Hall, their vehicle was again targeted this time Gavrilo Princip shot the rounds that would kill the Arch Duke and his wife Sofia.

Conculsion: The Great War... WWI

MOSTAR

Many have heard the name Bosnia before but few really know the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a Muslim country in the heart of Europe and a place of immense beauty and tremendous sorrow. My first stop was the once majestic, recently war torn (1992-1995) and now struggling to recovering city of Mostar.

BEAUTY OF TODAY...

STILL TODAY... LESS BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES OF THE NOT SO DISTANT PAST

Ljubljana Street Art

This small rundown area near the train station has been reclaimed by the youth of Ljubljana. They have turned the decrepit buildings into works of art, collected the trash that has littered the streets and formed them into sculptures. It has become a playground for ingenuity and creativity to be expressed from the residents of this happening city!

Ljubljana

The tiny Slovenia capital of Ljubljana is a lively and colorful place where it seems the party never stops. Upon arrival in the middle of the night hundreds of youth were partying in the central square and it seems the party continued for the duration of my stay. It has a lackluster castle atop the hill in the center of the city offering excellent views of the cobble stoned streets below. Running along the Ljubljanica River is a line of bars and restaurants to keep everyone well fed and merry making this city an excellent place to unwind and relax.
